We are excited to highlight the remarkable success of Miles, the son of our dedicated Board Member, Erica Exberger. Recently, Miles organized a cornhole fundraiser that yielded impressive results, raising an astounding $2,012 for Connections for Children (CFC)! His hard work and commitment to enhancing early care and education resources for his peers is truly inspiring.
Miles began his journey by receiving $5 from his school as part of a program encouraging students to engage with their communities and support a worthy cause. This small seed of support sparked his creativity, leading him to brainstorm ways to make a bigger impact. In a recent interview, Miles shared, "I saw how good and helpful this organization was, and I wanted to support." His mother’s involvement with Connections for Children further motivated him, as he expressed a desire for all kids to have a safe space and enriching experiences.
Miles first visited Connections for Children when he volunteered at Holiday Angels in 2023, where he gained hands-on experience and a deeper understanding of CFC’s mission. This initial engagement inspired him to take his support to the next level and create his own fundraiser, showcasing his dedication to making a difference in the lives of children and families.
At the cornhole tournament, Miles took charge of the event, using a megaphone to keep things lively and organized. Teams made a donation to participate in the tournament, and Miles also conducted raffles throughout the event, adding an extra layer of excitement and fundraising potential. Generous contributions from family friends allowed for the creation of exciting gift baskets for the raffle, raising even more money for the cause.
As we celebrate Miles' success, we invite you to get involved and support our initiatives. Together, we can continue fostering growth and learning for our community’s children. Join Miles in making a difference!
