All our Kin Business Series Launch for Family Child Care Providers

Free professional development series for existing and potential Family Child Care (FCC) providers.

In February, Connections for Children (CFC) launched a free professional development series for existing and potential Family Child Care (FCC) providers in partnership with the nonprofit organization, All our Kin, to help FCCs build and maintain sustainable businesses. This 10-week program is part of CFC’s Child Care Initiative Project (CCIP) and covers key topics such as contracts and policies, marketing, risk management, accounting, and tax record keeping. At the end of this series, participants will receive a certificate of completion as well as 34 professional development hours.

On Saturday, February 1st, 2025, participants joined our program kick-off at Connections for Children’s office which was hosted by Nancy Moya, Provider Services Coordinator and Zubia Khan, Professional Development Coach. During the event, this cohort of fourteen home-based child care providers received a program series overview and supplementary materials. Participants also had the opportunity to network with other early care and education professionals in their community.

Connections for Children is committed to supporting providers in opening their own child care facilities. We have staff available to help navigate the licensing process, and we provide free professional development trainings to support the continued growth of our child care providers. Once licensed, CFC invites providers to be a part of our free referral database, My Child Care Plan, which allows providers to market their business to families searching for quality care in our service area.
