Did you know that by becoming a Trauma-Informed Provider, you can earn a higher subsidy rate for children enrolled in CFC’s Santa Monica Early Education Program?
How can you qualify for a higher subsidy rate?
There are two ways to become eligible for this higher subsidy rate:
- Accreditation: Automatically qualify for a higher rate if you hold accreditation through the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) or the National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC).
- Complete Trauma-Informed Training: Sign up for the free L.A. County Emergency Child Care Bridge Trauma-Informed Training Series, available through Connections for Children. This training will equip you with the knowledge to be a Trauma-Informed Provider and improve the quality of care for children who may have experienced trauma.
Training Breakdown
The Trauma-Informed Training Series consists of eight, two-hour modules. Once you complete the series, you will receive a certificate and earn credit on the Workforce Registry ECE. To maintain the higher subsidy rate, providers must renew their Trauma-Informed Provider status annually by attending at least 4 hours of additional Trauma-Informed training each year.
If you're interested in joining Connections for Children’s sessions, be sure to register on this website. Instructions for registration, including Bridge Builder sign-up details, are available.
